On February 10, 2022, Regarding Princeton Ordinance Regulating Landscaping Businesses
All Landscapers Working in Princeton Must Follow New Business Registration, Noise and Environmental Regulations
Princeton has sought to protect and promote the health and well-being of landscape professionals as well as reduce the noise and environmental impact of landscape equipment in the community. Princeton’s Council amended ordinances that impact landscaping businesses in October 2021. All landscapers conducting business in the Municipality of Princeton, NJ, should be aware of new requirements for registration and restrictions on certain types of gas-powered equipment.
To ensure Spanish-speaking landscaping business owners are included among those operating in compliance with the ordinance, the NJ Small Business Development Center at The College of New Jersey, in conjunction with Sustainable Princeton, will host a free webinar entirely in Spanish on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 6:00pm -7:00pm ET. This virtual event will explain specific details regarding new regulations on gas-powered equipment and use of other equipment such as leaf blowers during certain times of the day and/or year. In addition, any landscapers wishing to conduct services in Princeton must provide proof of workers’ compensation insurance from an insurance company licensed in the State of New Jersey as may be required by law.
“We hope that Spanish-speaking landscapers will join us online to receive information necessary to continue serving the Princeton Community without interruption,” said Lilian Mauro, Regional Director of the New Jersey Small Business Development Center at The College of New Jersey. “We urge anyone in the Princeton community who knows or hires landscapers who speak Spanish to share this webinar information.”
This virtual event can be watched via mobile device, tablet or computer. Participants must pre-register to attend at this link: https://clients.njsbdc.com/workshop.aspx?ekey=21410085
