MONROE TWP., NJ – On Friday, December 14, 2018, Amanda Puppo of MarketReach Inc. was named as a Small Business Success Growth Award Recipient at the 2018 Success Awards Luncheon, which recognizes successful NJSBDC business clients from around the state.
Amanda Puppo is the Chief Executive Office and Founder of MarketReach Inc., a boutique B2B marketing agency that specializes in high-level prospecting and appointment setting, by getting sales-people meetings with their top prospects. In addition, MarketReach offers integrated marketing solutions including social media management, e-mail marketing, Google AdWords management, content development (brochures, sales flyers and blogs) and much more.
Amanda started her post-college career working for corporate America. During her short time there, she mastered a skill that nearly everyone dislikes – cold calling. It did not take long for her entrepreneurial mind-set to realize that she could use that honed skill to create a thriving business and fill a need in the marketplace.
With that, Amanda left her sales job at age 25 and launched MarketReach from her apartment in East Windsor, New Jersey. Although she was an expert at cold calling, there was still so much to learn about how to run a flourishing business. She immediately sought help from the people and organizations she admired. She joined the local Chamber of Commerce, New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners, and reached out to the NJSBDC at The College of New Jersey for business advice and guidance.
Seventeen years ago, the SBDC gave Amanda invaluable insights that allowed her to turn her dream into a reality, and the SBDC staff continues to offer her support today. She learned how to put together a business plan, how to read profit & loss statements, break-even numbers, and even received some assistance on understanding human-resource issues like staffing and recruiting. She grew her business to launch MarketReach’s first office in Hightstown, New Jersey, in 2003. From there, MarketReach steadily outgrew that space, and moved to its current location in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, in 2009.
When MarketReach first began, it had one employee and generated $30,000 in year one. Today, MarketReach employs 18 people and generates revenue of nearly $1 million. MarketReach’s newer service offerings in digital marketing and content development to support the sales pipeline will also be a revenue source towards expanded growth and exciting talent acquisition.
In the coming year, MarketReach is aggressively trying to surpass its $1 million revenue benchmark. The business also hopes to hire a handful of smart employees to fulfill the added demand in integrated marketing services. Regional Director Lorraine Allen and the SBDC consultants have contributed greatly to MarketReach’s steady growth each year, having helped Amanda build a solid foundation that turned into a prosperous marketing agency.
